Marie Berliner has more than 35 years of experience, dedicating her career to health care regulatory law since 1988, focusing on Medicare, Medicaid, and state law matters. She provides comprehensive counsel on licensure, certification, compliance with Conditions of Participation, billing rules, and operational issues for healthcare providers. Her practice emphasizes representation of hospitals/psychiatric hospitals and hospital systems, hospices, and home health agencies.
Marie earned her J.D. from George Washington University School of Law in 1988 and completed her undergraduate studies at Tufts University in 1984. Her professional journey includes significant positions at prestigious firms, including serving as Senior Counsel at Joy & Young, LLP since 2012, and as a founding member of Lambeth & Berliner, PLLC. Earlier in her career, she gained valuable experience at Gardner, Carton & Douglas and Wood, Lucksinger & Epstein in Washington, D.C., where she focused on Medicare Part A matters and participated in important lobbying efforts.
She maintains active membership in several professional organizations, including the American Health Law Association, American Bar Association, and the Texas and New Mexico Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, where she serves on the Ethics Committee. She is licensed to practice in Texas and holds inactive memberships in the Maryland and District of Columbia Bars.
